The ability to deliver and receive timely information is of pinnacle importance, which is where the Mass Communication tool can assist your community.
Located in your corporate portal, this tool delivers announcements (what we're referring to as broadcasts) to family members and residents across multiple channels.
With this feature, messages can be sent via:
- SMS text message
- Voice call
- Mobile app notifications
When enabled by your Customer Success Manager, head over to Community Management in your corporate portal and select Mass Communication. You'll land on the following page where you can view previously created and scheduled broadcasts:
Information available on this page includes the following:
- Status: Displays whether a broadcast is scheduled or has already been sent.
- Priority: Urgent or Standard. Urgent broadcasts should be used in the event of an emergency and are delivered with priority.
- Title: Title of the broadcast.
- Message Preview: A preview of the broadcast's content.
- Sent By: Name of the person who sent/scheduled the broadcast.
- Date/Time: Details when the broadcast was/will be sent.
- Recipients: Who will be receiving the broadcast. Can include residents and/or family members.
- Channel: How the broadcast is being sent, whether by email, text, voice call, or mobile app notification.
- Actions: View previously sent broadcasts or edit scheduled broadcasts.
Creating a New Broadcast
To create a new broadcast, hit the New Broadcast button. You'll land on the New Broadcast Details page where you will be asked to fill in information about your message:
When building a new broadcast, there are three steps in the process:
- Broadcast Details: This includes the actual message and audience, broadcast channels, and the option to include attachments and hyperlinks.
- Preview: A sneak peek at what the broadcast will look like when it's delivered.
- Send/Schedule: Review final details about when to send the broadcast and determine its priority.
Previewing a New Broadcast
Step 2 in the process gives a portrait of what the actual message will look like when it's delivered to its recipients:
Send/Schedule a New Broadcast
When the message is ready to send, we'll be given a couple final options to configure on the following page:
- Send Timing: Broadcasts can be transmitted immediately or scheduled for future deployment.
- Date: If scheduling a broadcast for future release, you can select the date and time of deployment.
- Broadcast Priority: Standard or Urgent. Urgent broadcasts should be selected in the event of an emergency as they will be delivered with priority.
Once these settings are configured, you'll be all set to deploy your broadcast by clicking Schedule Broadcast.
