Hello! On July 15, 2025, TSOLife made a series of formidable updates and optimizations to Digital Signage. This article will present an overview of what's new, highlight updated functionality and workflows, and will include a list of bug fixes that were addressed in the release.
New Slide Templates
A collection of new slide templates have been added to the platform that you can use to enhance your Digital Signage content: Meet the Team, Birthday, PDF to Signage, and a pair of new additions to Announcements.
Meet The Team
Community team members shouldn't be strangers to residents, so we have created a new slide template to proudly highlight these everyday heroes:
Birthday
Celebrate birthdays in style with a new template that shouts out a single resident, a single resident with an included photo, or multiple residents:
PDF to Signage
You can now upload a PDF file directly into your Digital Signage! Only the first page will be presented, and files should be uploaded in a 16:9 (landscape) or 9:16 (portrait) design for optimal display:
Announcement Styles
Two bulletin-style templates have been added to the Announcements collection. Each template contains ample space for text, images, and offers a full palette of color and font customization options:
Introducing Digital Signage Settings
You'll notice a big new orange button labeled Settings on the Digital Signage home page:
Within the new settings found in this menu, you will be able to override and adjust the duration of your screens while also selecting brand-new slide styles for Daily Events and Dining Menus.
Adjust the Duration of Each Slide
You can now adjust the length of time that a slide appears on the screen by using the Default Screen Duration Override Settings:
The default screen duration is 30 seconds, but this can be adjusted with the first dropdown menu, which serves as a global setting across all of your Digital Signage devices.
In the Duration Settings section, you can further override the default by selecting a custom duration for Happening Now, Local Weather, and Calendars.
Note: One notable exception to this setting is that the Welcome Screen will always run at a 30-second duration, and is not governed by this configuration.
Daily Event Styles
We've made stunning visual updates to Daily Events so your day-to-day activities can be displayed with a touch of elegance. Located in the aforementioned Settings menu, this trio of style options will determine how your Daily Events will appear. If no specific style is selected, then the slide will automatically revert to Default:
Dining Menu Styles
Feature meals by time or as a complete daily menu. Located in the brand-new Settings menu, this pair of style options will display your menus in an attractive and and aesthetically pleasing presentation. Don't worry about having to update the screens throughout the day because once a specific meal has passed, it will no longer display on the corresponding slide:
New Functionality
Along with the new slides and settings, a couple new exciting updates have been made to other features around Digital Signage.
Larger Font Sizes
When building a slide, you now have three options to choose from to adjust the size of your font: Default (which was the original size that has been there all along), Large, and Larger:
Gallery Slideshows
We have implemented a new slideshow feature that allows you to quickly and easily upload multiple pictures for a slide. When building a slide, you will now notice the Enable Slideshow option. Once turned on, you will be able to add multiple pictures to the slide without having to back out of the editor:
Key Bug Fixes
- Announcements: Clicking the "Complete" button now takes users back to the intended Announce schedule.
- Calendar: Resolved issue of activities not downloading with correct room abbreviations.
- Compliance: Fixed issue where corporate-wide compliance over time did not display correctly. Resolved calendar-view issue where compliance data was not filtering as expected. Settled issue of communities not being able to see rules with care types they don't have. Fixed a bug were new compliance rules were unable to be added. Resolved an issue for communities that have compliance turned off yet still had access to the feature.
- Downloads: Improved speed for all downloads.
- Family Portal: Downloaded list of invited residents now shows the correct linked relative instead of the account creator.
- Integrations: Yardi phone number now appears in resident/family app.
- Resident App: The "Attend" button now changes state appropriately during a session on the mobile app.
- Resident List: "Download Active Residents" now returns the active list instead of the archived list.
- Transportation: Resolved inconsistencies when adding unavailable full-day blocks. Events linked from the calendar now appear correctly on the transportation calendar. Fixed issue of transportation calendar weekly/monthly transport prints appearing blank.
